Islington-City Center West is a bustling oasis of urban arts. There’s no shortage of murals, artistic spaces, or new developments around the area. Although it is a busy neighbourhood, it still offers laid-back vibes and a tight-knit community. Islington-City Centre West has grown to be a hub of activity day and night. You’ll find the after-five crowd ready to take a load off and enjoy the evening. Those who don’t commute out of the neighbourhood continue to keep the community fun and functioning at night. There is plenty of dining, arts, and entertainment to keep you occupied. 

 

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Islington-City Centre West is a commuter’s haven, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find things to do within your area. Islington has more than chain restaurants to offer the community with many investing in the redevelopment by bringing in local businesses. 

 

Sherway Gardens is a large mall in Islington-City Centre West with valet parking. You’ll find food and entertainment as well as plenty of stores to shop, such as Tiffany and Co, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Lululemon.

 

Black Angus Steakhouse has been serving the Islington-City Centre West community for 50 years. Their steaks, seafood, and other dishes are cooked on open charcoal grills providing excellent flavor to every meal. They have an elegant dining room, spacious outdoor patio, and private dining spaces.  

 

Alternatively, Apache Burgers provides a fun atmosphere in a 1950s-inspired dining room.  Dundas Street Grille is a local favourite for brunch with their thick-cut French toast topped with bananas or strawberries. 

 

The Keg Steakhouse and Bar is a popular restaurant in the area. With favourites such as escargot, blue cheese filet, lobster, and mile-high chocolate cake, you will see why The Keg keeps opening more locations. The rooftop bar at Joey Sherway is a local favourite in the summer and their jumbo lump crab cakes are a year-round staple.  

 

The local brewery in Islington-City Centre West is Big Rock Brewery. They have craft beer, cider, and keg rentals. Close to Islington-City Centre West is Montgomery’s Inn where you can see a tavern from the 1830s that is still operating and serving patrons with drinks, live music, dancing, and entertainment. 

 

Things to Do 

Although Islington-City Center West is an urban area, it has access to parks and green spaces, such as Echo Valley Park. You can take a stroll through The Islington Mosaic and see over 25 hand-painted murals by local artists. At Tom Riley Park you will find the lit sports fields, baseball diamond, and tennis courts. Children enjoy the pool and playgrounds at Tom Riley Park and adults enjoy the allotment garden.
